my sis

So I really know nothing about taking pictures of people (it's definitely not the easiest thing in the world), but here was my first attempt, and my sister, Sarah, was my subject. I know full sun isn't necessarily the best thing, but I was having trouble with the lighting in general. And I chopped a few hands and feet here and there, but oh well, you make mistakes, learn from them and move on.

f/3.5 - 1/3200 - 18mm - ISO 400

f/5.6 - 1/500 - 55mm - ISO 400
and I know...I chopped the feet

f/2.8 - 1/800 - 100mm - ISO 400
this one was taken in the shade - I just thought it was a cute one

yup...chopped the hand. And for some reason, she had her hand behind her back in a few of the shots...guess that's just where she likes it to be lol.

self portrait

Not an easy thing to do...and I'm not even totally happy with how it turned out, but I have to use the natural daylight when I can. And we only have like 2 windows I can actually use, so it makes for some challenges. I converted it to black and white too.

Pics from 8 Feb 09

So I was able to get out again yesterday and take some pictures. I shot in manual most of the time, so I got to play around with some of the settings. And can I just say that my hands were ice cubes when I was done?

I told Jim he's going to have to learn how to use the camera too since I want to be in the pics sometimes :o)

I thought this was cool...I was able to get the sun shining through a window

This was an action I applied in Photoshop - thought it was kind of cool
